Trucks
Recently Cavalier has acquired two brand new trucks to add to the fleet of temperature controlled trucks used for domestic delivery and pick-up. The trucks are an investment in the expansion of Cavalier. Extra trucks will make us even more flexible and enable us to handle more shipments at a time.

New Faces
Because of Cavaliers constant expansion, Cavalier has attracted new personnel. They have started in all different departments such as import airfreight, export airfreight, export seafreight, Customer Service, Sales and HR. We like to welcome our colleagues, and hope for a pleasant and long lasting (work)relationship. All of the new faces will be featured in the section ‘Cavalier introduces’ in the next few months.

Steel Shipment
A short while ago Cavalier has airlifted a shipment of steel plates. Getting the plates into the trucks for transportation was a task which required a keen eye and a lot of precision of our staff. We used two forklifts to get the plates into the truck with utmost caution, because cargo gets a king’s treatment at Cavalier. After the shipment was loaded onto the truck it was delivered to the airline and flown to its destination.

Cavalier introduces
Kees Bakker
Age: 43 years old
How long have you been working here?
I’ve been in service of Cavalier for over 20 years. In the early days under the name Reibel Air Freight B.V.
What are your activities at Cavalier?
I started out as chauffeur in a time without cellphones and computers. We were putting in long days, because everything had to be measured and weighed as the trucks came in. After the measuring and weighing the papers could be inferred. Our declarants couldn’t prepare anything because the documents were not submitted in advance by mail or fax. After the outdoor work I was trained to become a declarer. This is where my career started to finally become the Director of Cavalier. I am proud to have contributed to the development of Cavalier to the company we are today. Our customers can use all modes of transportation. Whether they need to send cooled packages by air, sea freight or by road. We have everything under one roof. All in a place that currently could be considered the center of Schiphol Airport.
How do you spend your spare time?
Besides the two children we have, I try to cook a little for friends and acquaintances. Obviously the necessary sports. Tennis and mountain biking are things I try to practice weekly. A few years ago, I achieved the “GVB” (Golf Qualifications License) but I have yet to achieve my goal to get below a 36 handicap (lack of time). Further I like to watch sports and movies with a special story.
What is your favourite holiday destination?
Spain / France / Italy, a lot of sun and beautiful beaches combined with a delicious plate of food and a full glass. In the winter we like to go skiing with a group in Austria.
